Today I'm gonna talk about my favorite comic of 2025.
Today I'm gonna talk about my favorite comic of 2025.

So i have been pondering on this topic for a while what would be my favorite comic of 2025? There are so many good ones from the absolute series specifically The Flash and Superman runs which i have thoroughly enjoyed this year or could be ultimate spiderman a series that has been so good consistently and i am truly upset it will be ending. But out of all those books none of them had to impact on me like Chrsitian Ward's Two face run this book has had me so locked in on every issue. A little background on this comic it takes place in Gotham with Harvey dent running something called the white church it is almost like a court for the criminal world of Gotham there Harvey is being a lawyer trying to do good again trying to put criminals away but he wrestles with the monster side of himself. One of the reasons i love this book is for how different of a take this is on two face as a character. The contrast of Harvey and the monster side is so good through the book we see that Harvey is truly trying to change he knows what his monster side did was bad and he just trying to make up for his mistakes, But the constant struggle pulls Harvey deeper we see him in a constant state of worry scared that he will let the other side out. A character introduced in this book that i immediately thought was great was Lake Cantwell she is someone who looks up to two face and almost becoming like his daughter in the book. She ends up running becoming the head of the white church at one point in the book and i think she makes for good contrast to show that some people look up to these villains without knowing the true nature of them. Lake cantwell looked up to Two face not Harvey Dent. Ending this off i wanna talk about the origin of the Harvey's Monster side my favorite part of this comic. in the last few issues we see that Harvey's monster side has been there all along it started with abuse from his father his mother tells him to hide the pain to put it somewhere where it can't hurt him this leads Harvey to create his shadow something that can take the pain of the abuse away. We see in the trial of Harvey Dent in book 4 we see his shadow detail everything how he had to bare the pain of it all inside but when harvey became the two face it released him. this two sides make them seem almost like two different people most of the run the shadow is trying to break free as he Harvey struggles with trying to run this criminal world often times he feels like a poser because he knows this is not who he is but because he is know stuck as two face he must live like this he does his best to make change but in the end he cannot escape the shadow of himself. This Run is truly amazing Christian Ward and Fabio Veras did an amazing job on this i have to say also the art in this book is legit amazing some of the panels of inside Harvey's head are the best i have seen in a comic book go read this book please you will not be disappointed.
