DC STUDIOS: A LOOK INTO 2026 AND BEYOND.

2026 DC STUDIOS SLATE: SUPERGIRL,LANTERNS, CLAYFACE AND CREATURE COMMANDOS.

SUPERGIRL

Supergirl is the project that we know the most about it will be releasing June 26,2026 and it is directed by Craig Gillespie. It is currently rumored that film is currently going through reshoots for about two weeks with the rumor being they are wanting to add Superman in a few scenes. We currently do not know when a trailer is coming for this movie but we do know that it is in post production at this point. James Gunn described this movie as more in the lines of guardians of the Galaxy as it will be mainly a space adventure film. Jason Momoa Is confirmed to be playing Lobo in this film and Krypto will be back in this one! I think Supergirl shows a lot of promise i am very intrigued to see how different this film will be compared to Superman.

LANTERNS

Lanterns is the HBO Max show coming 2026 starring Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler as John Stewart and Hal Jordan Nathan Fillion Guy Gardner will be back as well. This show will be out before Supergirl and we know from a recent interview with Aaron Pierre that they have wrapped, He goes on in the interview to talk about how big the production and he hopes the fans will appreciate all the work put in by the cast and crew. Although information has been very limited on this show we did have a logo leak from a crew member with a specific bullseye inside the lanterns logo that could be hinting towards the villain of this series. Also, we saw that this season of Lanterns is season 1 meaning that there is potential for multiple seasons of the show if it does well. This is my most anticipated thing from DC Studios coming next year cause i am a huge fan of the Lanterns in general they are the coolest characters in DC in my opinion and i am hoping that they are done right in this show.

CLAYFACE

Clayface is coming to Theaters September 11, 2026 This film has always been the curveball from DC Studios as none really saw this coming. I wrote in my previous article about how at first i was so caught off guard by the release of this but over time with the castings and then the choosing of James Watkins for the director i started to gain more faith in it. Then we saw the use of practical makeup and effects on set and how it will setup DCU Gotham now it is one of my most anticipated films of next year. James Gunn has also stated that this fllm will have AI commentary and how it effects actors. I know for a lot of people this one may seem like a skip but i promise give this one a chance i think it will shock some people for sure.

CREATURE COMMANDOS

The next project in 2026 will be Creature commandos season 2. The Details of Season 2 are basically none right now so there is not much news as far as this goes. James Gunn is currently working on Season 2 and there is potential of a crossover between Checkmate which was established in peacemaker season 2. I think we are all hoping that G.I. Robot somehow gets into Earth X next season and sets things straight there. I really enjoyed the first season of creature commandos and i liked how it setup some characters in the DCU.

2027 DC STUDIOS SLATE: MAN OF TOMMOROW,

MAN OF TOMMOROW

The next film in the superman saga directed by DC Studios CO-CEO James Gunn is hitting theaters July 9th, 2027. We know that as of right now James Gunn has finished his 4th draft of the script and he is on his 3rd round of story boards right now. Also, he has stated that he is deep into costume designing for this film. We know much of the Superman cast will be returning for this film as well maybe Aaron Pierre John Stewart could be joining the cast as well. This movie will be about superman and lex having to team up to face a much bigger threat James Gunn has stated that this will be more of a lex driven movie than superman as he wants to dive into the mentality of lex. The big bad of this movie is basically a mystery so far i think we will know by supergirl of next year who exactly it will be. I think this is one of my more anticipated movies for DC and with the new reports from the wrap confirming brainiac will be the main villain i am even more excited to see the direction they take this movie. We have been informed by James Gunn via threads that Sam McCurdy will serve as the cinematographer for this film. There were rumors of Wonder Woman and Batman showing up in this film those have now been denied by james gunn.

DC STUDIOS 2028 & BEYOND: DYANMIC DUO, MISTER MIRACLE, SGT ROCK ETC

DYANMIC DUO

This is probably the most intriguing project that DC Studios has announced so far Dynamic Duo is a movie about Dick Grayson and Jason Todd two robins it will explore the early friendship between to the two and what leads them to take the different paths that they take. Sway Box studios will be handling the animation of as we know it will be a mix of CGI, Stop Motion and Live action all in one. There was footage of this shown at CinemaCon this year and it was described as amazing by the ones who saw it and very innovative. Super hero animation is obviously such a big thing with the spider verse movies and even TMNT mutant mayhem. I definitely think the goal is to compete with those movies while bringing something completely different to the table animation wise. The last thing is that this film did just recently get new writers to rewrite the script they are Scott Neustadter and Micheal H. Weber they wrote 500 days of summer.

MISTER MIRACLE

The next project that has been announced by DC Studios is Mister miracle that will be written by Tom King and based on his 12 issue comic book series. We know recently James Gunn has got in episode 1 of this show and has yet to read it. He also stated that this show we be the introduction of the new gods, it was reported by Nexus point news that Darkeseid, Highfather, Lightray, Orion, and Funky Flashman will all appear in this show and the the plot points will be Scott getting infected by the Anti-Life Equation and his suicide attempt. We currently unkown who will animate this but my guess is the same people who did creature commandos will do this one. It is not confirmed whether this is else worlds or not right now all we know that the new gods introduction will be here. James Gunn recently confirmed that this will be DCU Cannon and most of the main characters have already been cast with an announcement coming soon.

WONDER WOMAN

The next project announced was Wonder Woman now details are very scarce on this as we basically nothing about it as of right now except that Ana Nogueira has been tapped to write this film she also wrote Supergirl and rumored for another project that we will talk about soon. Paradise lost i will also cover in this as to be real there has also not been much movement on that show but it is still in the works just that we have no script for it as of right now. I wrote an article detailing what exactly i want from a wonder woman film but as for this i kind of expect some announcement for it at least early next year maybe a director we will see.

BATMAN THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD

The big one here the Brave and the bold the introduction of the DCU Batman this film is easily the most asked about film in this article. Every interview everyone wants to know anything about this film rightfully so batman is the biggest comic book character of all time. James Gunn has been very cagey about anything about this film so details are limited the writer has also not been revealed because James Gunn said he did not want to put pressure on the guy it has been rumored for awhile though that Drew Goddard is writing this film. James Gunn has also said that a lot of things have changed from the original announcement of this film, now if we go back we remember him saying that Damien Wayne robin was gonna be the robin in this film some are speculating that maybe that has been changed to Tim Drake. We will not know anything until the upcoming months but i expect a blue and gray suit Mr Gunn! Its is has now been confirmed that Christina Hudson will be writing this film she also wrote the flash and bumblee.

BOOSTER GOLD

Booster gold is a project that basically none really new anything on until recently. We know everyone thought he was gonna appear in Peacemaker season 2 obviously that did not so happen but his show is still going forward at HBO. We know that Dave Jenkins has been tapped with writing the pilot for the show and if it gets the greenlight for a full season he will serve as the show runner. There has been no update on the pilot as of right now but we know it is in the works so just have to be patient and wait for any updates on the show.

HUNTRESS AND INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

This project has actually been in the works since the DCU started in July 2023 DCULeaks reported that a huntress project was in the works. This project will be full in Korean Helena Bertinelli will be portrayed as half Korean and half Italian. Huntress is one project apart of a wider range international DCU projects both live action and animated. They will have an international setting with cast from the respective country and developed from people from the country's as well. These are only TV shows as we know of right now and they will mainly adapt characters whose origins from are from international countries but they will change them to fit the narrative of the story like huntress.

BLUE BEETLE ANIMATED SERIES

The blue beetle animated series has not had to many updates since it was announced in June 2024 by deadline. Earlier this year we did have James Gunn and Peter Safran confirm that the creative team for this was preparing a pitch and they were hoping to give it the greenlight to start. Since then we have not heard many updates from this series we do know that original movie cast will be returning for this. Blue Beetle the movie will be DCU cannon not everything in the movie but the character blue beetle will be present in the DCU going forward. This one i feel like will get updates soon we are just gonna have to wait and see.

SGT ROCK

SGT Rock is the project on here that i feel like is the one that will start production very soon before it was put on pause this film was very much going into production. They were scouting locations to start shooting they had Collin Farrell portraying SGT Rock and Luca Guadagino was set to direct with Justin Kuritzkes pinning the script. The duo also did Challengers with Zendaya, Mike Faist and Josh O'Connor. Mike Faist was actually being eyed for a role but was never offered, David Jonsson was also eyed but it never went anywhere Mikey Madison and Taylor Russell were offered the role of the love interest as well. James Gunn has maintained that this will film will get made and he is confident that it will. The big question is will Luca Guadagino be attached to the film and can they still get these Oscar winning actors like Mikey Madison to still be on board.

BANE AND DEATHSTROKE

This project has always been very interesting to me cause there has never been much plot details from it. James Gunn and Peter Safran did confirm that this was a real project earlier this year so it does exist. It has been reported by Nexus point news that a script has been turned in written by Matthew Orton who also worked on Moonknight. This project has not had many updates since then but i do expect in the upcoming months that we could get even more updates on this project.

MR TERRIFIC AND JIMMY OLSEN SHOW

So we all know one of the biggest characters from Superman 2025 was Mr Terrific after the release of the movie a report came out saying that both Mr Terrific and Jimmy Olsen are both in line for Tv shows. The details for the Mr Terrific show has been limited compared to the Jimmy Olsen show that is be propped as a anthology series focused on different villains in the dcu hosted by Jimmy Olsen. There is also heavy rumors that Gorilla Grodd will make his live action appearance in this show. I think they are treating this show as a way to introduce multiple dc villains to show they exist in the universe and that we will see them at some point in the DCU. This marks the end of this thread for now i plan to make constant updates to this as we get more updates from the DC Studios!

V FOR VENDETTA TV SHOW

So the most recent DC Studios project that was revealed was a V for Vendetta limited series coming to HBO and HBO Max. James Gunn and Peter Safran will executive produce with Pete Jackson writing the show. This show i am gonna say will not be DCU connected i think this will be a elseworld project. I have always loved V for Vendetta since i first read it so i am thrilled to have this show especially in the world we live in today i think a project is bold but needed. There are no castings or anything like that right now but i do expect this to come out in 2028.
